In a significant year like the current one, in which Piaval celebrates 100 years of activity, the partecipation at the Salone del Mobile acquires even more significance for a company engaged internationally in the contract sector.
Among the novelties presented, the innovative and versatile collection of Herringbone chairs, designed by the duo GarciaCumini, and Dafne, an enveloping armchair, which marks the beginning of the collaboration between Piaval and the architect Matteo Thun. The two collections designed by Laura Silvestrini, Trench and Macaron, have been expanded with the introduction of the lounge model.
The stand, designed again this year by the art directors GarciaCumini, was conceived as a Home Cinema, a place of sensory experiences: visitors were able to test the quality and comfort of each Piaval collection, immersing themselves in the extraordinary animation created by the French illustrator Pierre Bourrigault to celebrate the company's 100 years of activity. A video that tells the story and values of Piaval, in which nature, wood, man's work and philosophy, are described with great poetry and delicacy and accompanied by the sound design of Lorenzo Tomio.
“The idea of this artwork for Piaval comes from enhancing the essence of the creativeprocess: the forest that produces wood, the design from which the project originates,
the expertise of the construction, the ring-shaped recall of a growth that solidifies in its stratifications.”
